KCRFC Micro's & U&'s January Newsletter

Welcome back following the Christmas break. We hope you all had a super Christmas and that 2014 is a good year. There are lots of things we need to share with you and a newsletter seems to be the easiest way!

Raffle Tickets
Every year the RFU hold a ‘Grand Draw’. This year the first prize is £10,000! For every ticket that is sold by KCRFC 60p comes back to the Club. This year it has been agreed that some of this will go to age group funds. The amount we receive will depend of how many tickets we sell. If you haven’t yet had any tickets to sell please see Helen. The ticket stubs and money need to be returned to Helen by Sunday 26h January please.

Dinner Dance
Every year KCRFC hold a black tie ‘Dinner Dance’. This year’s event is planned for Saturday 5th April and will be held at Spring Grove House, Bewdley. The cost is £30 per person for a three course meal and entertainment. If you would like to attend please let Helen know as soon as possible. Full payment will be required by Sunday 23rd February. This is usually a really good evening and gives the adults a chance to relax and enjoy themselves!

Worcester Warriors v Exeter Chiefs – Saturday 12th April 2014
The U7’s have been given the opportunity, along with the U8’s & U9’s, to play a short game of tag rugby during half time of the Worcester Warriors match on 12th April 2014. The U7’s have arranged to play against Droitwich for this fixture. Places for this will potentially be limited to 15 players. If interest exceeds the number of places it may be a ‘draw names out of a hat’. Players will get free entry to the match, parents/adults will be £20.00 each and siblings £10.00 each. If you are interested in your child playing in this fixture please text Helen by Wednesday 15th January 2014 so we can finalise numbers with the other teams.

‘Housekeeping’
Boots – it is advisable for all children to have studded boots. This will give them additional stability and grip on pitches. All studs must be kite-marked. The studs supplied with many boots are not and would need to be replaced. Sportsworld and the ‘Shop’ in the Clubhouse sell kite-marked studs. Please ensure that your child’s laces are tied securely and loose ends are tucked away into the boot.

Reminder – as stated in the Mini & Junior Section Guide to the Club children under 8 years must not be left. If you are going over to another pitch or to the Clubhouse please inform one of the coaches where you will be.

Gum shields – all U7’s must wear a gum shield. These are available from the ‘Shop’ and other sports outlets.

Kitchen Rota
The next Micros & U7 kitchen duty is 9th March 2014, this is an excellent opportunity to raise funds for the age-group. Selling cakes during the last duty raised £40. If you have any ideas for raising money on this date please share them.

If you have any questions or queries please speak to one of us.
