This morale boosting eight try bonus point win against basement club Bedworth cemented KC’s mid table position in this open league...

Kidder monopolised early possession and territory but it took twenty minutes to get points on the board when scrumhalf Chris Pinner, not for the first time this season, took a quick tap penalty to himself and scampered over for an opportunist try which was converted by flyhalf George Morgan to give the hosts a 7-0 lead. Two minutes later fullback Rhys Pritchard launched an attack from deep and when an attempted Bedworth interception sent the ball backwards behind their defensive line centre Laurence Hughes pounced to run in under the posts for the home side’s second try, again improved by Morgan.
KC’s,who had been wary of Bedworth’s customary forward strength, were scrummaging really well to provide a platform which allowed them to start to run the visitors around and on the half hour mark a solid five metre scrum saw Morgan ghost through for a try and his conversion extended the lead to 21-0.Some sloppy Kidder play gave encouragement to Bedworth but pressing defence and good tackling kept their line intact and they finished the half well on top.
After the restart KC’s,inspired by Hillandale Caravans man of the match Layton Wilkinson, continued to dominate and Morgan showed a fine turn of speed to follow up his own kick over the visitors’ back line to register his second try and his fourth conversion stretched the lead to 28-0.
Five minutes later veteran left wing Eddie Ross lost a foot race after hacking a loose ball over Bedworth’s try line but the self proclaimed “old git” made no mistake moments later when Wilkinson and Pinner used possession from a five metre scrum to work the blind side and send him over in the corner.Ross was soon at it again when Pinner and Hughes created the space for another touchdown by the winger to take the score to 38-0.
Somewhat out of the blue, midway through the half Bedworth’s No 14 squeezed over in the right corner to open their account and five minutes later when KC’s had created a huge overlap after a fifty yard burst by centre Mitch Hardwick he ran in an interception try under the posts, duly converted,to reduce the arrears to 38-12.KC’s intensity had dropped off to give the visitors a glimmer of hope but they put the game to bed when firstly Hughes cut through their defence to touch down under the posts,Morgan adding the extras, and then Wilkinson finished off a lineout drive with a well deserved try to notch up the half century and as the home side again began to cut loose the visitors were relieved to hear the final whistle without conceding further
