With the constant threat of rain at the Birmingham Solihull pitch Kidderminster U12s finally gained a well deserved win. Several players were away this week and with Tobi Costello moving to Stourbridge plus two new starters everyone was concerned about the likely result.

The first game started well but with Kidderminster forwards having a more difficult time than of late. George King, Elliott Halford and Harvey Thompson battled well with strong runs from Cameron Thorogood. First try went to Birmingham and they quickly converted (7-0), but with further pressure and excellent tackling from Ellis Bayliss and good interplay between Cameron Phillips and Harrison Davies saw ground made before Harvey Thompson scored and Zak May levelled with the conversion (7-7). A change around after Ellis Bayliss took a knock meant that debutant Morgan Maxwell bravely stepped into the loose head role with Elliott Halford moving to second row. The tackles continued thick and fast from the forwards, Lucas Beech and Zak May at centre and the hugely committed Robin Willis. Nathan Gallacher as usual ending up head to head against the largest opposition player with a crunching tackle but again Birmingham managing to put the phases together to score a second but failed to make the conversion (12-7). In the second half Harrison moved out to wing with Nathan in at scrum half supported by Sean Sadik in at fly half. Will Roff swapped into Hooker and Harvey Thompson moved to number eight. Runs from Alex Rose on left wing made good ground before Ellis Bayliss managed to secure a second try and after rattling both the cross bar and the up-right Zak May put the ball over to win the game (12-14)

The second game continued much as the first but with Birmingham having fresh legs on the pitch. Following an offside by Kidderminster and a tap and go Birmingham scored and converted but again with some huge tackling and good positional play the ball was worked well through hands to Harrison Davies on the wing for a try. Cameron Phillips made the conversion. Game finished (7-7)
